Swimming Lessons Day 1

Since we're swimming 2.4 miles in the big race, we decided it would probably be a good idea to take some lessons.  Both of us "know how to swim," but sometimes people pass us doggie paddling while we're doing freestyle in the pool (embarrassing).  we signed up to take lessons with Sanchez, the master swimmer.  He has dubbed us "the honeymooners."  After watching our strokes one time, Sanchez said that we were well matched and will be married for a long time... he's like our zen yogi master of the water.
The lesson was pretty good though.  We learned many things:
1. You should glide in the water
2. When you kick you should try to kick like you're kicking a ball in front of you.
3. If you turn your feet in just a tiny bit, you get more from your kick
4. When you are taking a stroke with your arms, you should act as though you are climbing a wall.
All in all, it was well worth the lesson--and we have 7 more! We didn't quite get the meters in, but form and efficiency is much more important.  Just maybe we'll actually break 2 hours for the swim in louisville!

Week 3
Swim 5400m (I can't even count what we did today!)
Bike 126mi
Run 45mi
